Ankita Bhargava's coverage in Bombay Times(22 September, 2014)

Mother’s show replaces daughter’s show on TV

It's a huge high for television actors, when their shows get a prime time slot on the small screen.

But Kiran Bhargava has bittersweet feelings about her latest show, Itti Si Khushi. Reason: It has replaced her daughter Ankita's show, Ekk Nayi Pehchaan.

Says Kiran, who plays a mother in Itti Si..., "It was only in the second week of September that we learnt that my show will replace Ankita's, which went on for 10 months. But that's the nature of our profession."

Ankita adds, "I was disappointed to learn about my show's closure, but I am glad that mom's show is replacing it. Now, I will get time to travel. You never know, I may even be offered a nice role in her show."

The mother-daughter duo believes in 'healthy' competition. Says Ankita, "We have laid a bet. If her show opens with a rating higher than mine, I have to cook lunch for an entire week. So, for selfish reasons, I want mom to win this bet."
